Primary task as Health Service Administrator:

Direct and manage the administrative function of a correctional facility to include oversight of all facets of facility operation, fiscal responsibility and day-to-day management of staff.
Oversees and reviews all external contracts to ensure adequate reimbursement for clinical services and adherence to contract requirements.

RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Direct and coordinate administrative functions and enforce adherence to federal, state, correctional health care standards and institutional regulations and guidelines in the provision of services.
  • Directly and administratively supervise facility employees including final approval of hiring decisions, performance appraisals, scheduling, training, employee development, disciplinary actions, and conflict mediation; determines staff salary levels.
  • Develops procedures and assigns work tasks to improve efficiency.
  • Review, interpret, recommend and implement administrative polices to ensure adherence to contract and regulatory requirements.
  • Identify and resolve issues regarding administrative and fiscal matters and regularly evaluates administrative systems and services.
  • Serve as the administrative/operational representative/point of contact for the facility.
  • Participate in the design, establishment, and maintenance of the organizational structure and assist in recruiting professional staff and independent contractors as required.
  • Develop and manage annual budgets for the facility and performs periodic cost and productivity analysis.
  • Represent the facility externally and internally on committees and at meetings as required.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.

The Cardiac/Pulmonary Rehabilitation Department provides education and exercise training for patients with cardiovascular and pulmonary diseases.  Cardiac Rehabilitation is a three phase program. 

  • Phase I focuses on inpatient education of cardiac patients.
  • Phase II focus is on outpatient telemetry, with monitored exercise training and risk factor modification education.
  • Phase III is on maintenance of an exercise program and on reinforcing risk factor modification lifestyles.

Pulmonary Rehabilitation is a two phase outpatient program.

  • Phase I focus is on monitored exercise and education. 
  • Phase II focuses on maintenance of exercise levels and on reinforcing pulmonary education.

The primary days for Cardiac Rehabilitation are Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 7 am to 5 pm. The primary days for Pulmonary Rehabilitation are Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday from 8:30 am - 4:30 pm. 

BLS and ACLS certifications are required for all staff.

  • Must be licensed to practice as a registered nurse in the State of North Carolina by the NC Board of Nursing.
  • Current certification in Healthcare Provider BLS/ CPR required.
